Affiliate Disclosure

Last Updated: April 23, 2026

SmartWorkAI is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links. This page explains exactly what that means, how it works, and why it never affects what we write.

1. What Are Affiliate Links?

An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a company's website that you arrived from SmartWorkAI. These links look like normal links — they take you to the same product page you'd find by searching directly. The only difference is a tracking parameter in the URL.

You can always tell if a link might be affiliate by hovering over it. We also try to label affiliate links with a note like (affiliate link) where practical. When in doubt, assume outbound product links may be affiliate.

2. How Commissions Work

If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — typically between 5% and 30% of the sale price depending on the program.

  • You pay nothing extra. The price you see is exactly what you'd pay going directly to the company.
  • No purchase required. Clicking a link doesn't cost you anything — commissions only happen if you buy.
  • Commissions keep the site running. Revenue goes toward hosting, tools, and time spent researching and writing.

We participate in affiliate programs including, but not limited to: Amazon Associates, and various SaaS and productivity tool programs. The list changes as we review new products.

3. Editorial Independence

Affiliate relationships do not influence what we recommend. We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and we do not change our ratings based on commission rates.

  • No pay-for-placement. Nobody can pay to appear in our recommended tools lists or get a favorable review.
  • Negative opinions stay. If a tool has a real downside, we say so — even if it has a generous affiliate program.
  • No sponsored "reviews." All product reviews are written based on our own hands-on testing or documented public information.

If we ever write sponsored content or accept a free product for review, we will say so clearly at the top of that article.

4. How We Select Products

We write about tools we've actually used or have a strong reason to evaluate. Our selection process:

  • Hands-on testing first. We sign up, run the tool through real workflows, and only then form an opinion.
  • Relevance to our readers. SmartWorkAI focuses on AI productivity tools for freelancers and solopreneurs. We don't cover tools that don't fit that use case.
  • Affiliate status is secondary. We'll write about a great free tool with no affiliate program before we'll promote a mediocre one that pays 30%.

5. No-Spam Guarantee

We don't sell your email, we don't rent our list, and we don't use your data for advertising. If you subscribe to our newsletter:

  • You'll only hear from us when we have something worth sharing.
  • Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • We never share subscriber data with affiliate partners.

Affiliate tracking (via link clicks) is handled by the merchant, not by us. We don't use affiliate cookie data for any purpose beyond measuring which content drives revenue.

6. Questions or Corrections

If you spot something wrong — a broken disclosure, an inaccurate review, or a factual error — please tell us. We'd rather fix it than have wrong information live.

We aim to respond to all correction requests within 2 business days. Verified factual errors get a correction note added to the relevant article.
